Remote Education
Remote Education
At Barley Hill Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child continues to learn and thrive, even when they cannot attend school in person. Our remote education provision is designed to maintain high-quality teaching and learning while supporting pupils’ wellbeing and engagement.
Our Approach
In the event of an emergency school closure, parents will be notified via ParentMail. This communication will include details of remote education arrangements, typically consisting of links to the day’s teaching slides and associated activities. These resources are published on the year group page of the school website.
Submitting Work
Completed work should be sent to the school office via email at office.2463@barley-hill.oxon.sch.uk or brought into school upon reopening for feedback.
Long-Term Absence
Children who are absent from school for an extended period due to illness will receive a bespoke remote education package tailored to their needs, ensuring continuity of learning while supporting their medical condition.
Safeguarding
A member of staff will carry out safeguarding checks every five days for any child not educated onsite and not seen by another professional body.
Additional Support
Where prolonged absence occurs, referrals will be made to relevant services such as the Local Authority Attendance Team, Oxfordshire Hospital School, and approved alternative provision providers for children with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).
