Welcome to Barley Hill Primary School. I am immensely proud to be Headteacher of our thriving school. As Headteacher I do, of course, strive for academic excellence, but I firmly believe that school should be more than that. It should be about discovery and opportunity, about respect, reliability and resilience. Our children are hardworking and enthusiastic about their learning but they are also friendly, caring and very proud of their school.
Our aim is to help your children build on the wealth and variety of experience they bring to school by providing a rich, stimulating, constructive and fun environment where they are actively engaged in their learning. We treat and value your children as individuals and believe passionately in working in partnership with you to provide the best education we can. Read More
Frontier Centre - Year 6 Residential Trip
Please note that we have had to cancel Parent Evenings for Tigers Class next week. Revised dates will be advised in due course.
Friday 14th October - Day 5 The children are on their way home and are expected to be at the Cattle Market awaiting collection at around 3pm.
2:30pm - We have just received an update, they are stuck in traffic and are now due back at approximately 3:30pm
Thursday 13th October - Day 4 A chilly day, but one group were still happy to jump in the river! Today the children were busy on the High ropes, King Swing, Abseiling and Mountain Biking. Last night the winner of the Talent Show was Ted with an amazing Magic show, and tonight to celebrate Grace's birthday they will be having cake whilst sitting round the bonfire.
Wednesday 12th October - Day 3 2.30pm The children have had a very busy day, climbing, swinging on the king swing, fencing and attempting to find their way through the maze. Lunch was a jacket potato with various fillings, and everyone is looking forward to this evening's Talent Show arranged by the staff.
The children all enjoyed their activities yesterday even if those kayaking got very wet! They had roast dinner, and the children went to bed happy but tired. All settled well and this morning even though it is a cold start, the clouds are clearing and it looks like it will be a lovely day.
Tuesday 11th October - Day 2 The children slept well following a dinner of Spaghetti Bolognese or Macaroni Cheese followed by Diary writing, group games and cake to celebrate Bertie's birthday. The morning is a little frosty and bright, and the children will be taking part in activities including kayaking, mounting biking, climbing and walk the plank.
Monday 10th October - Day 1 They arrived safe and sound and enjoyed a picnic in the sunshine before having some free time. The children are now taking part in their first activity, either Team Dynamics or Orienteering. After, they will be unpacking and looking forward to a delicious meal.
